Walk to Prevent Weight Gain

According to a recent study, if you want to maintain your current weight, walking for an hour a day should do the trick. In a long-term study, middle-aged women who averaged about 60 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise, such as walking on a daily basis, experienced almost no weight gain during a 13-year period.

However, the researchers found if you struggle with your weight already, you might need a bit more than 60 minutes. The overweight women in the study weren’t able to stop the weight gain with the same level of exercise that worked for their healthy-weight peers. What’s even better news for the healthy-weight women is that they avoided weight gain even while they ate normally.
